These are botanical studies more than cartoon blooms. The line weight is deliberately fine and the shapes are left open, so colored pencils can be layered — a rose petal shaded from cream at the base to deep pink at the edge is the whole point of a page like Rose in a Vase.

A few pages break toward scene rather than specimen: Poppy Meadow, Cherry Blossom River Path, Windmill Tulip Field and Sunflower Row put the flowers into a landscape, with more area to fill and more room to decide where the light is coming from.
